The Journey to a Vision

The White Harvest did not begin with a logo and a vision statement; instead, our Father has led us on a wondrous journey that has helped us to discover His vision for how The White Harvest is to go about ministering to the people of Israel.

Bishara D., an Arab Christian, a native of Nazareth, and a founding member of The White Harvest, began his part of this journey by volunteering with a local outreach program; Bishara’s role was to visit with people who had shown an interest in hearing more about The Gospel.

Bishara found it easy to share his faith with the local Traditional Christian Arabs in Nazareth, as well as with the Jewish people living in the surrounding cities, but he found it difficult reaching out to the local Muslims.  After training for, and serving with a Muslim outreach in Spain, Bishara gained the confidence through these skills and his experience to begin to minister to the Muslims in Israel.

It was about this time that The White Harvest team formed, and we began to evangelize via door-to-door, at shopping malls, and at junctions and intersections.  We also began to design and publish tracts that spoke to specific local people groups.

“… And even to the remotest part of the earth.” Acts 1:8

Israel is also home to many refugees and foreign workers, so The White Harvest also began distributing food and literature to African refugees who live near a park in downtown Tel Aviv.

While ministering to the African refugees, we found that the park was also a gathering place for many foreign workers from the Philippines, Nigeria, Ghana, Thailand, India, Nepal, Romania, Ecuador, etc.

The White Harvest has found, and continues to find Bibles and other printed materials that explain the Gospel message in the various languages of these people.

“Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.’”

Matthew 9:37

As you have seen, the “harvest” here in Israel is definitely plentiful, but we need your help to be able to continue reaching the people groups that we have shared about: Jews, Arabs (Traditional Christian and Muslim), African refugees, and foreign workers.  We would ask that you would prayerfully consider coming to Israel to serve alongside of us, either as individuals or as a group, be it for a day, or weeks, or even months.

“Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”

Matthew 9:38

Please pray alongside of us; directly for us and the people we are ministering to, for workers to come alongside of us, and for the finances to keep moving forward, especially with regard to acquiring more materials.
